Want to save on business premises costs? Test Smartia’s new online calculator at FinnBuild

Published

At the fair stand of Smartia, a manufacturer of halls and business premises, visitors can test a new online calculator. This tool helps determine the specific space requirements of each company and provides an immediate estimate of total construction costs. Throughout the exhibition, Smartia’s experts will be on hand to enter business decision-makers' requirements into the calculator and share the best solutions for the premises needs of small and medium-sized companies.

The Finnish company Smartia has found a niche in its home market where it is particularly strong. These are typically new premises and halls to be built, ranging in size from 100 to 1,500 square meters. Smartia's solutions are not traditional sandwich elements or pressurized halls, but wood-framed office and production facilities tailored to the different needs of customers. Smartia's comprehensive service covers the design of office and warehouse premises, material delivery, and installation from the exterior to the interior surface. Nowadays, foundations are also included in the services offered by Smartia, which makes it even easier to get started.

According to a study conducted by Smartia, buyers of business premises can save up to 800 euros per square meter by implementing Smartia's concept compared to the market average. Miiko Pohjola, Sales Director for Smartia's business premises, says that on average, Smartia's implementations have achieved a square meter price of up to 1,200 euros compared to the market average of 2,000 euros. When looking at the total price, this means huge savings of between 200,000 and 500,000 euros in projects.

High degree of domestic content

When constructing new premises, Smartia operates as close as possible to the source of the costs, which is one of the company's key competitive advantages. Factors affecting costs are identified as early as the draft stage, and efforts are made to eliminate unnecessary expenses. This allows us to efficiently draft and price customer solutions during the sales phase without unnecessary intermediaries. Once the customer has secured the plot, zoning regulations, and financing, the process gets underway at lightning speed.

The delivery time for a package is typically six weeks, but delivery in as little as four weeks is possible after structural design. Although the customer is responsible for purchasing the plot, earthworks, HVAC work, floor casting, and interior design, Smartia is happy to help find suitable partners, a foreman, and a chief designer.

"We can guide our customers, for example, in selecting suitable partners in areas that are not covered by our solution. We recommend that customers use local operators so that they can employ smaller partners from the vicinity in their own projects and still obtain a solution that is affordable and cost-effective. All of our products come from Finnish operators, and our domestic content is very high", Pohjola explains the company's philosophy.

Smartia's vertical frame solutions utilize the Precut method manufactured at the Raahe factory, in which all parts are sawn and marked to the specified dimensions in advance. This significantly speeds up assembly and reduces material waste, making Smartia's halls perhaps the most cost-effective on the market. Sales Director Miiko Pohjola points out that customization is always at the heart of what they do.

"Few customers buy ready-made models; instead, we customize solutions based on them to fully meet the customer's wishes and needs. For example, vertical frame halls can be constructed with either sheet metal or wood cladding", he continues.

Currently, Smartia's halls and premises are being built mainly in Lapland and within Finland's golden triangle. Customers have included small and medium-sized companies in need of new premises, as well as investors, tourism companies, and industrial companies. At the FinnBuild trade fair, Smartia wants to meet both its important partners and potential hall builders. Miiko Pohjola invites all visitors to the fair to visit the Smartia stand to find out how business premises can be built more efficiently, quickly, and affordably.
